AVP- Personal Banker/Branch Manager

Location: Spring Green

SUMMARY

Administers operation of the branch office.  Manages branch staff, oversees building maintenance, & performs deposit & consumer lending activities for customers. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages overall branch office operations.
  • Represents the financial institution to the community through good customer relations.
  • Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for branch office business volume and deposits.
  • Participates in sales, service and product training meetings.
  • Participates in and encourages lending activities directly.
  • Directs financial institution personnel in activities to ensure prompt, accurate and dependable customer service.
  • Provides personnel management for branch CSR staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining office building, grounds, equipment and fixtures.
  • Prepares reports for management as required.
  • Reviews staff members for formal performance evaluations and recommends salary adjustments.  Counsels employees when needed.  Coordinates staff training when needed.
  • Provides extensive personalized customer service to consumers with specific or special banking needs.
  • Provides personal banking account advice including suggestions for account resolution and other information to assigned customers as needed.
  • Assists potential customers in establishing new accounts and completing customer account files.
  • Reports on product marketing, enhancement, deletion and development to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Assists in the design and development of marketing plans for deposit products.
  • Researches competitors’ products and suggests strategies to improve marketing positions for the financial institution.
  • Reports on related industry products, pricing and improvement strategies.
  • Assists in development of departmental goals and budgets.
  • Provides a complete range of customer services at the financial institution including opening new deposit accounts & consumer loans, explaining available financial institution products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
  • Proactively prospects for new business.
  • Actively refers trust, insurance, and brokerage services to appropriate financial institution specialists.

  • Contributes to the overall profitability of the department and Bank.
  • Performs the position safety, without endangering the health or safety of herself or others, will be expected to report unsafe conditions.  The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to travel to other branch offices as needed.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with individuals from all levels of the organization.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree or equivalent of five years of similarly responsible banking experience; or equivalent combination of education training and experience.  Well versed in financial institution operating policies and procedures, banking regulations (state & federal), employee development, and public relations.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Treats all information regarding the bank, its customers and employees with complete confidentiality according to all applicable federal and state regulations and generally accepted business practices.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization

COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use current off the shelf information systems for common office functions and ability to use the functional business systems as needed for this position.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in narrative, mathematical or diagram form and work with several abstract and concrete variables.
